When I'm using temp to calculate VPD should I be using leaf temp or air temp? My leaf temp is 3°F cooler than my air temp. Using the AC Infinity 69 pro controller allows you to create the offset and adjust the VPD accordingly. If I add a -3°F offset then I'm in the ideal zone.
Just bought a 10lb bag of Nature's Living Soil AF mix and want to try it out on my next run. Can I use Happy Frog, Strawberry fields or Oceans forest as my base potting soil? I have been growing in 5gal fabric pots using the AC Infinity auto pots and layering my soil. Strawberry Fields bottom ⅓, Ocean Forest middle ⅓ and Happy Frog for the top ⅓ and starting in my final pot. I'm using Fox Farm Nutrients and the complete AC Infinity 4x4 grow system with S44 Ionboard light at 24" on level 8, T6 Inline Fan, 2 6" oscillating fans and using the AC infinity auto watering bases after week 3. 80°F and 55% humidity. Grow tent stay pretty stable with night Temps around 74°F. I'm running 4 Northern Lights Autoflowers and am about 4 weeks in. Any suggestions, advice, or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
First, my condolences to your wife for her misfortune. Good on you for stepping up when she needed you.
Sounds like you have yourself a nice setup. I'd suggest looking at a vpd chart 55%rh is low for 80f. It sounds like you have already used the soils. I say if you have seen success with these ratios then it works quite well. You will likely need to top dress starting when you see bud set. Make sure to mix the ammendments in deep as you can since you are using auto pots. Top watering for a week after amending would be useful to aid in nutrient breakdown. If you go with living soil I advise you step up to 10 gallon pots at a minimum and get containers instead of fabric pots.
Thanks for the advice Cam Z. My wife is my world and I hate watching her suffer. I too need the weed. I have a rare incurable neurological condition called Arachnoiditis. It basically causes severe nerve pain in my lower extremities. What VPD should I be targeting? I'm so scared of mold or something going wrong because of high humidity. Should I just lower my temperature or raise my humidity?
