so i have a 4x4 grow tent and last grow i had 4 girls in there and let them veg for 3 months and they really fill the whole tent they are beautiful i have my girls ready for the next run and i was going to try putting 8 plants in there in 3 gallon pots with rows of 3s and leaving 1 spot for humidifiers and ect i dont know if i should just keep with the big pots and less plants or 3 gallon pots with more plants what would the up and down of doing either 1 be? just a longer veg time to fill it? need some input to make my decision even in my 2x4 grow tent i have 4 3 gallon pots in there and im wondering if just 2 5 gallon pots would have been better what do everyone else think?

Some may argue it's a wash. With 8 plants you Veg for less time and harvest earlier - but 4 plants is less work (watering, feeding, etc) than 8 plants. There are many different perspectives on which way is better. For this I think it comes down to personal preference. Try it out and see which way you like better.
Its all about veg time. Small plants = shorter veg time = more plants per canopy sqf. I have for example several strains that I veg for 3 weeks and flip to flower. I run 16 in a 4x4 and they get little maint. These are generally clones so it doesn't cost me seeds (they are my own seeds so this generally doesn't matter anyway). The alternative is longer veg time, bigger plant and more time to screw stuff up :) Happy growing!
Personally, I think that larger plants trained out over the same space produce more than a greater number of small plants. There are advantages and drawbacks to both though. If you run more plants you have a better buffer incase anything happens to some of the plants. It's more work to have more plants though. You have less veg time though. What I'd do if I was you is run 6 plants in 5 gallons if you have the coverage.
