Hey guys, I have this seedling, about 3 weeks old. She's showing signs of a deficiency, probably magnesium or nitrogen.
She has the SLOWEST growth ever. Does anyone know what could be the reason for this? Btw specs info below.
Any tips on how to fix this deficiency? And theories of the slow growth?
What strain is it? - AK420 (photoperiod) by Seed Stockers
Is it in Veg or Flower stage? - Veg, seedling
If in Veg, for how long? - 3 weeks
Indoor or outdoor? - Indoor
Soil, Soilless or Hydro? - About 10% perlite, 60% coco coir (BioBizz Coco-Mix), 30% soil from local gardening store (Though I'm convinced the soil is not the issue.)
If soil/soilless, what size pot? - about 6.6gallons or 25liters fabric pot
Size of grow space (LxWxH)? - 80cm x 80cm x 180cm (pretty much 2.5ft x 2.5ft x 5.9ft)
Make and model of grow light? - Kingbrite LM301H, QB288 (240W) sitting at around 35 inches from plant at like 70-80% now.
Temperature in the environment? - 28 degrees Celsius
Humidity in the environment? - Around 43%, but seedling is in a dome with humidity around 60-70%
PH of medium or reservoir? - medium, no idea, but watering with under 6.0 pH tap water
PPM of medium or reservoir? - unknown (friend told me it was 2.1 EC, but that was before a new water filter I had placed on my tap water.)
Any Pests? - Nope
How often are you watering? - 1 time a day, maybe 2 times, but only a couple sprays if a second time
Type and strength of nutrients used? - Switched from organic nutes from 2 weeks to synthetic in the third week. I used BioBizz Alg-A-Mic (0.5ml per liter) and a teeny bit of Fish-Mix, like 0.1ml per liter I think. Now, in the third week, I started using about 0.5grams of magnesium sulfate for 1.5 liter tap water, under 6.0pH... and also about close to 1gram of calcium nitrate. I mix in the magnesium sulfate first until it's 100% dissolved, then the calcium nitrate until 100% dissolved. Then I add pH down to get it under 6.0pH. If concerned why I switched from organic to synthetic, it's because the smell started going BAD in the organic nute water. Some anaerobic bacteria started building up and I didn't have an oxygen pump. I figured a switch from organic to synthetic is just easier in the long term.
Glad to hear it rebounded! Looks good!
@Mr. Grow It @mwhite9829 A little graph or comparison picture I made as well:
@mwhite9829 @Mr. Grow It Hey, thanks for your attention guys.
Turns out, the most likely reason was light stress. I kept my 240W Kingbrite LED at about 80% and 50cm away from plant. I turned the dimmer to 50% ever since I posted this and she has picked up a steady pace. Here's a picture of her now.
Looks like symptoms of overwatering. When you overwater during the first 7 days or so, it can significantly stunt the plant's growth. More info: https://www.mrgrowit.com/post/over-watering-cannabis-plants
I would pop another seed my friend. Sometimes it's just the plant, I've had a few that stopped growing right about where that is.
