I would love to have them. It is the one way to a true consistant living soil.
The end goal is to have a constant soil moisture level.
Most of their systems are set up with a resiviour. One or two are made for direct water sources. Blu Mat has a reputation to run away (drip emitter will stick open). If you have a constant water source and it sticks open, you lose.
There are some great you-cube vids to get the basic gist.
what do we mean by dialed in ? is it something that just takes time ? i have no idea . also by just thinking it, it brings more questions to my mind, like where do you feed from ? through the blumats? extra on top ? i cant find much info around
On each of the carrots, you will have to adjust the knob to control the flow of water dripping down onto the soil. Sometimes you'll check the next day after setting up and notice it needs adjustment. Here is step-by-step setup instructions from the user manual which may be helpful for you: https://www.blumat.com/storage/app/media/Manuals_TB/blumattropf-systemmanual-weben-2017.pdf
So they operate on a ground pressure vessle. You can run many omitters off one carot but I think they recommend only two if you want accurate watering.
You usually want a resiviour model so if it runs away it won't flood you whole home. They also have soak hose now as well.
thank you all for the info . one more question . the ones you tried were the simple ones or the ones with the dripping cable above them ? are they different ? i got my hands on a basic one that you connect the cable to a container . is there a way to configure those ? thanks
i bought a few a couple years back. tried to get ready for going on a trip & couldn't get them to my liking in the couple or three days i had to try and dial them in . too wet for my liking . i had a friend stop over instead
thank you all , i will report back when i try them

Great once you get them dialed in! I had them on a few plants last grow and it made things so much easier.

They are supposed to be second to none, but they take weeks to dial in properly.
Rule is you start off dry and hand water to suppliment being so dry and then turn them up slowly until you get to the desired moisture level.
I really want one so I can keep my pots well moistened.
I will say this, when you have the moisture dialed in . . .WOW the plants jump fast!
Good luck, just remember to look at the goods and the bads before you invest in something you won't use . . .
