I was using straight R/O water with no Cal Mag or anything added for the first 2 weeks. Pretty sure it stripped my plants of their minerals. I added Cal Mag last watering, and thinking I will be adding at least a half dose every watering moving forward. Thoughts?
@Angrybird Growing I think you're loving them too much. RO shouldn't "strip nutrients" in that soil. 1200+ ppm is super high, especially for their size. It's very possible you've over watered.
It's been a while since I've done liquid synth nutes but I'm thinking at that size you could be down at 400 ppm or less and be just fine.
They should stand up to some drying out and it may even promote root growth. Try to water the medium more evenly, not just around the plants. You'll water less often then too, it'll keep a more even moisture.
Do what you can to keep a more even RH. At this stage they'll benefit from higher humidity, 67 is good. They're small so they're not "breathing" a lot. Don't worry too much about fresh air exchange, the humidity is more important.
I don't think they are going to die but I wouldn't give anymore nutrients right now. More information would definitely help diagnose the situation. Include the info from this post.
How far are the lights from the plants? Is one light on or both? What is the dimmer setting set to on the light? When using Happy frog soil you shouldn't need to add any nutes for the first 30 days or so in that container. If you transplant that does add time to the clock before needing to add nutrients. Since you're using RO water I would try adding Cal Mag at half strength for now unless you see signs the plants need more. Looks like it could be too much water or the lights too bright/close. When watering try to let the medium dry out then mist the top layer of soil to keep it moist. Once the plants are a little older you can start to water more heavily. If the lights are too close or too bright I would try backing them away first and see how the plants respond. If you can't raise the lights anymore I would turn the dimmer down.
Was worried about lack of nutrients. Added 2.5ml CAL MAG and did a half dose of the first two of the Foxfarms trio (Grow Big & Big Bloom) in today's watering
I think I know what I did wrong now.
