Starting my first auto grow. Made some improvements to the grow area. Picked up some ratchet rope for the light fixture and have been playing with distance. 24" was too close and I burned the leaves a little on one of the Northern Lights. I'm up to 28" and that seems to be ideal. Will be monitoring that very closely. I also picked up the humidifier that Mr. Growit recommended under the Equipment list. I was struggling with humidity with my last photo grow. It's now at 50% from 30% and I installed it lesss than 2 hours ago. Solid advice on that one. Seems minor but it makes me excited to see progress.
2x Auto Northern Lights from Seedsman
2x Auto Critical CBD from Sonoma
I had 1 Auto Lemon Kix from Dutch Passion that produced a decent tail, but didn't sprout. I'm keeping it there and spraying the surface in case it decides to show. It's an extremely interesting looking grow.
Growing in Sunshine Mix 4 http://www.sungro.com/retail-product/sunshine-mix-4/ under a Sunblaze T5 LED with the white veg lights that came with the fixture. I'll swap to the bloom LEDs I picked up for my photo grow after 5 weeks https://www.sunsystemlights.com/shop/product/sun-blaze-t5-led-fixtures# which is the 4ft 4 panel. My tent is a 4x4x8 and I'm using 2 vivosun 4" fans. One for intake because it's over 30 degrees Celsius most days until Fall gets here. Using the other for out which is connected to a carbon filter https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01DXYMGOM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Nutrient will be Remo Nutrients again with no other additives this time around and PH balanced water.
I am open to any and all tips on auto growing. This may be my main way while living in a small apartment.
Let's see where this grow goes!
Damn. They looked really frosty too
Scrapped. Couldn't breathe all morning so I can guarentee they pollinated. Chopped and out. Time to clean and start again 🤓
And then there were 2. My CBD auto's hermied. Hoping I caught them in time. They were too far into flower when I started messing with light cycles. Keeping an eye on the Northern Lights. I have a feeling pollen was released the way my allergies have been the last 2 days. These auto's are a fantastic learning experience.
@Mr. Grow It 1 day on 20/4 and they've started. They are going to be beauties.
Into week 4. The NL didn't do well with the 12/12 so I have switched to 20/4 and they've really perked up. I wil probably move them to 24/0 in a couple of days once they recover from the defoliation. Threw in some stakes and moved them around a bit, and now the race is on!
The 55-60 days could be the flower period and it's not always exact. They all grow at different rates. I had a blue dream auto that grew two weeks past what said it should.
@Mr. Grow It and Mr. White who I can't tag for some reason, the Northern Lights are on day 44 from germination. Same as the Crits but the Crits are well into bloom. Seedsman claim the NL auto's should be ready in 55-60 days. They are in pre flower and have had the same environment and feedings as the crits. All on a 20/4 cycle. Is there anything I can do to push them into flowering? Auto's are a mystery to me.
Week 3 of flower and week 1 on the smaller girls. Coming along nicely. Been playing around with different types of training. The larger was LST and topping. The smaller were supercropped which I messed up a little on the Critical. Over-all I'm happy so far.
Auto's grow so fast. This is crazy. Some minor light damage here and there. Still playing with distance. A lot of LST and can barely keep up. I think my older Critical is starting to flower.
Trying some LST for the first time. Doing 2 different things on the 3 week girls. Any ideas for the other 2 when they're ready? Both strains are responding really well to LST.
I saw a well known auto grower on YT topping his autos and then LST for some impressive yields. I topped the week 2 veg NL and Crit for an experiment and won't top the other 2. Curious to see how this goes. Otherwise it's veg and nothing exciting 👍
Looks like you figured out there is a sleep feature on the humidifier to turn off the LED lights on it. I left the front light on before and had plants hermie so be super careful to always make sure lights from equipment are off at all times.
Looks like a nice set up, I have those humidifiers as well, they work great when needed and can shut display off so no light effecting
