So I recently harvested my first ever grow and was happy with the outcome .After curing for 5 weeks now in mason jars with boost RH packs , they smell great and look it also however the smoke is not good does not stay lit and also black ash , can some one help me to know what it is next run to avoid this I flushed with tap water for 7 days as I grew in coco , also dried it the same tent which it grew in using a dehumidifier set at 50rh .I used tap water not RO which I initially thought would give me issues when I add nutrients but as long as I didn’t overfeed I did not see any issues
I believe I done everything accordingly so unsure what the issue Is
Thanks for the reply i dried for 14 days with dehumidifier set to 50Rh then trimmed after 14 days then placed into jars with a 62% boost pack , I used tap water the whole entire grow slightly hard water unsure if that affected end product , i flushed for a week with run off maybe I did not do enough , very frustrating everything would have been perfect but burns black ash and doesn’t stay lit
How long did you dry? How long did you cure? What is the RH in the container?
thanks for the reply , yes I did every day for the first week I opened them for 15 mins or so , then once a week after that . the reason I added the RH packs was so that I would take away the process off adding a hygrometer to each jar and checking on it etc and the RH pack would do the work for me so to speak , it’s very strange because I did flush for a week and done everything correctly recently I rolled a joint and it was great other times it comes out black I really don’t understand
Hi,
For the cure, did you burp the jars every day and let them sit open for a bit?
Why did you add the RH packs? If everything is good you should not need to add them. The only time I use RH packs during curing is when I really over dried the bud before I put them in the jars and even then I only leave the RH packs in for a couple of days. Once the cure is done, then I may put some RH packs in to keep things good. Not sure if this caused your problem, but next time try curing without the the RH packs if possible.
