Hi folks, I am completely new to this, so here goes lol. The room I will be growing In is in my basement. The room I am using is unfinished, so it will be next to impossible to sanitize outside of my grow tent. I am looking at starting my grow in October, so there will be no chance of outside pests being a problem. I am more concerned about what will appear in my tent once I start my grow. So basically, does Anyone think that I will have a problem with pests in my first grow?

Hi, I grow in the basement in an unfinished room that contains the furnace and water heater. I keep the floors clean and vacuum and mop often, the furnace and water heater are spotless, the tents are sanitized. I get the odd basement bug, but nothing that is bad for the plants.
I do let centipedes and those fast hunter spiders live in the grow room area when I see them. They stay out of the tents and eat any other bugs in the room.
The problems I have run into, I brought in from outside the house, like spider mites and mushrooms. I have been growing in this room for about 3 years now.
You should be fine, just keep everything as clean as you can and be careful about bringing stuff in from the out doors and who you let in your grow space. Twice I got mushrooms after showing my grow to a friend who is a landscaper, now I just show people pictures.
