Personally I don't germinate my seeds. I just plant directly into the medium. Some people swear by one way or the other. Personally, I'm a lazy sunnuva. Whatever requires less work - is usually the way I go. Everything I've purchased from ILGM has germinated 100% just planting it into the medium.
I think you're right just having that fan blowing as much as possible being in a hot garage. Have you looked at a mini split for cooling the garage? Depending on how big your garage is you could probably get by with 8,000 BTU unit. Or go for a notch up and go for the 12,000 BTU unit so it doesn't have to work so hard? There's a 12,000 BTU unit for sale on Amazon for less than $800. Seems like a steal for having nice cool air. Some of those mini split units also help dehumidify the air as well as cooling/heating the space. The units last a long many years and require minimal setup.
Framing around the inside of the garage door with 2x4's and some caulk could probably go a long way as well. Install studs, insulate the temporary wall, and should help drastically with your temps. Shouldn't take but 3-4 hours of your time
@Creager yeah, think I'm gonna just put them in soil. I'm a "nature knows" kinda person. Got mine through Crop Kings.
I have a huge 2.5 car detached garage with all my woodworking stuff and a storage loft in the rafters. That would be way too much work for some personal smoke. Sometime down the line maybe. Before that, I would just grow in the house. Still might if I can't manage temp and humidity. If I started earlier it wouldn't be as big a deal.
I also have the AC Infinity T6 same controller and everything. I run Gorilla grow tents just for the wear/tear they can take. I have been wanting an AC Infinity tent, but they only go to 5x5 as of now - and none of the reviews have swooned me. Glad to hear you got a nice tent. Hopefully there's hope for the product they make an amazing fan and controller.
That's what it's supposed to do. When it's within the range you set it, it turns itself off until it's needed. I disable all that and just use the fan speed settings 1-10 personally. At the end of flower its cranked all the way to max. On veg it sits around 3-5 and it's comfortable. They make excellent ventilation products
I see you don't buy cheap equipment. Yeah, I heard most people bypass the auto setting. I work nights and sleep days so I don't know what I'm gonna do. Probably just do like what you do. I'd prefer to constantly recycle the air. Being in the garage in 90 degree heat it doesn't stay off for very long though. Any advice on putting germinated auto's directly in fox farm ocean soil?Hear yes and no.
@Sean for what its worth from a beginner i used the ocean forrest because its supposed to be a hot blend you won't need any nutes until it uptakes whats in the soil. I found it compacted to much so adding the perilite to it will help. Just ph the water until they tell you they want some nutes. Long timers please correct me if I'm wrong.
@matthew owens you aren't kidding. I just planted and that stuff turns to concrete with very little water. I've only grown mold unintentionally so I'm by no means a farmer. Will look into that stuff. Thanks for the advice. You get good results from that soil? Heard from ppl like Mr grow it that it'll be a month before I add nutes most likely.
How you liking that AC Infinity tent? I love the idea for mounting the controller so easily, but have heard nothing but terrible things about the zipper and light leaks.
@Creager on my test run I didn't notice any light leaks through the zipper and overall it's a good tent although it's my first so I have nothing to compare it to. Love the controls if they are actually accurate. Runs when within temp and humidity range and off when not. Don't know if that's a good thing though. What do you have?
Once you get growing you might want to add a second fan. It's a good idea to have a fan above the canopy and a second fan below the canopy.
A wireless Thermometer/Hygrometer is very helpful to monitor the temperature and humidity inside your tent. A cheap $20 one will do the trick or you can get one that sends alerts to your phone.
thanks man. I did get a second clip on but haven't put it in yet. Will probably need to though cause on my test run today it got up to 93 outside and my tent was running 90 inside. Hopefully that helps a little. The infinity comes with a sensor probe but I'm gonna take your advice and get another cause I want to make sure. Heard the ac infinity can be inaccurate.
I got something called a pH buffer powder. Three packets. That's it. Says to pour it in water. I did get his audiobook to listen to at work. Still might have to get the book though too. Helped a lot. Takes all the shit I've been researching for the last two weeks and simplifies it. Planting today. Wish me luck.
@Sean good luck and happy growing my friend i would definitely get more ph buffer powder and ppm fluid to keep a check on the calibration of your meters I check my calibration at least once a month I've had to recalibrate my meters more than once and I definitely agree with his book it makes everything way more simple than all the research we do keep us posted with pics my friend
@dgreen2178 thanks for the tips. I will keep you posted. Been a week since planted and they are about 1.5 to 2 inches tall. Spraying with water a couple times a day trying sooo hard not to over water.

You have ph and ppm meter?
Looks good
