Mr. Growit. In chapter 4 of your book, you give instructions to flush if soil runoff ph is below 6. Then proceed to say that plant needs nutrients if soil runoff ph is above 7. What gives?🤷🏾
How old/big is your plant? And container size? i usually use about 4 TBSP per gallon of media with good results 👌🏽 Just mix it into the top layer and water it in, it acts as a layer of mulch as well and should help ya maintain some moisture in between watering days
Just double over the pen calibration to be extra sure, and try out a little worm castings, I grow organic but im sure they will help boost micro nutes even with synthetics. it does take some time for the plant to uptake from the castings but you will know when she is up-taking😎
What medium are you using and nute line? keep in mind nutes typically drop PH and depending on what you use for PH measurement, you may need to check pen calibration to ensure its accurate. Like Chris said maybe a flush and if you like organics try a worm casting top dressing to try and buffer PH a bit and provide some micro nutrients to help unlock the plant. Just went through the same thing a couple weeks ago and she responded REALLY well to a flush and worm casting topping. Cheers!
You forgot to include the word typically. It reads, "If the soil runoff pH is above 7.0, this typically means the plant needs nutrients. Check the PPM and feed the plant nutrients if needed." Keep in mind that these are general guidelines. This book is a beginner's guide and isn't everything there is to know about growing cannabis. You can certainly get deeper into topics and there are various ways to go about the different processes. Hope that helps 🙂
@andreasfirstborn72 Some would say flush either way. If the pH is out of the ideal range, nutrient uptake can be negatively impacted and you could see deficiencies. If you have a high pH and low PPM, then feeding in nutrients at a pH of 6.2 (for example) could get you back into the ideal range. That's just one example. If you can tell us what your runoff pH and PPM are then we can advise better.
@andreasfirstborn72 Honestly you should be fine. In your situation I'd feed in at 6.5-6.8 pH and the pH in the medium should drift up over time. That being said, are you seeing any issues on the plant?

@Momma's Boy Thank you. Ocean Forest, and General Hydroponics across the board. Apera ph meter.
