All this KNF content has given me an idea. I think I'm going to try and make fpj and inoculate it with orca to see if I can get a decent dwc grow going. I'm aware of the potential problems associated with organics in dwc but I will probably make a single bucket setup just to test my idea. Probably going to add a tbsp of oil to my res to prevent frothing. Gunna be a couple months before it's ready though. Should be a fun little experiment. If nothing else I will have fertilizer for the other crops I grow outside.

So, my first attempt was a bit of a failure but not a loss. I will be letting it sit outside over winter and using it to fertilize my greenhouse to get the microbes started next February.
My second attempt I used other wild grasses and weeds from my yard. This time I opted to blend them up instead of cutting them into strips. The result is a much more vibrant green mixture. I feel much better about that. The other mistake I made was adding in the worm/compost exudates before fermenting. This time I will pasteurize this material and then add it to my fpj. The reason for using this is that it contains humic and fulvic acids which will help bind the nutrients to aid in absorption. I need to pasteurized it so the funky bacteria and fungi in the exudate material doesn't overtake the beneficial components of my fpj. I will strain it all through a nut milk bag like last time to remove all the large debris and allow it to sit for an additional week. I'm determined to keep trying until I can figure this thing out.
