It’s been curing for two weeks, it smells like freshly cut grass almost, when it was alive on the plant the whole backyard smelled like it was going to be the greatest stuff ever, I did try it and it still gets you high, is that OK
As long as you do not see any mold or mildew you should be fine. If it is still really damp you might want to spread it out a bit to dry more before putting it back in the jars.
And those Mini Hygrometers are a life saver! It's hard to tell what to do if you do not know the humidity inside the jars.
Once a day I roll the jars to break up any stuck bud then leave jars open for 30 minutes.
Do that for at least two weeks, 4 is better.
I have humidity hygrometers in a couple of the jars and aim for 62% (It's 60% in the picture). If the humidity gets to 70, then it was too wet when I jarred it and I will spread out all the buds on wax paper for 30 minutes instead of leaving them in the jar. If the humidity goes below 55%, I add Boveda packs (for a few days only) and only open the jars for 15-20 minutes.
I think your jars are just too over stuffed and you need to monitor the humidity.
Go onto amazon and search for "Mini Hygrometer" you can get a 5 pack for $20.
May not have been dry enough before putting in to cure. Are you burping the jars allowing fresh air exchange at least once a day? And as already mentioned the jars pretty full, I never go over 3/4 of a jar so I can roll them around when I open them up, actually I'll say did do. I don't use jars anymore for curing, just for storage.
@Cap Stone That's the one I was referring to when I meant 30-40 bucket system- I am interested in a 1-2 5 gallon buckets....seems like it would scale down easily- I watched one vid- but does not mention psi setting of compressor? I get the 15 min. a day, but is pressure of compressor crucial? other than that- input low, out flow valve higher up, small holes in the input hose at bottom- my next larger chop in December- plenty of time to get parts together. I think I am going to try it out-
Yea, almost identical expect my buckets say Lowes on them 😂. With the exception of the pump it costed like $13 a bucket to make, most of that price was the gamma lid. The gamma tops I got didn't seal around the bucket lid to well so I used plastic panel bond and they are now permanent. I think its because the lip on bucket wasn't right for the lid.
When I first used the larger pump it did have to much pressure, the buckets started to balloon. Fortunately the pump has a pressure control. It's at half which after 3-4 attempts when it kicks on in about 10 seconds the upper valve pops open and the bucket don't balloon. I really couldn't tell you the psi I didn't guage it, I probably should. When I used the fish tank pump it worked ok on one bucket but had on for 40 when ran so I felt comfortable enough air exchange happened.
