Is it ok to leave some of the damaged leaves that have trichomes on them or should I remove them?
I have been battling these spots now for a couple of weeks now and they only seem to be coming in on the main tops. so far they don't seem to be making the plant unhappy so not sure if I should just leave them or cut them.

What you're showing and explaining is symptoms of light burn. You may want to increase your light distance, increase feeding, or a bit of both. I'd leave the leaves on until they are about 75% or more dead.
