Hello, I always see how many days old plants are. But I would think, it would be from when the seedling sprouts through the soil. Some start counting after sprouting. So what is the real story?
Days since sprout is commonly used for autoflower plants. Many growers will go by the number of days since sprout all the way up until harvest. For photoperiods, many consider the first 2-3 weeks the seedling stage. Often times the seedling stage is part of the vegetation stage, but some count the vegetation stage starting after the seedling stage. Unfortunately there's not a set standard that all growers follow there. Flowering stage for photoperiods start after flipping to a flowering light cycle - but some growers won't start counting flowering days until after also seeing pistils on the plant.
