In the 1970’s I once made brownies from a LOT of leaf trim. They were the worst tasting - omg like eating dried hay, but if you could choke down a couple . . . I wouldn’t say I couldn’t walk, just crawling seemed like a better idea.
For some reason over the years I have found using leaf a bit of a hit or miss kind of thing. Stick to leafs higher up. The plants I got my leaf from were taller than me, but hadn’t started to flower yet. I baked the leaf in the oven at 300 for around 10 minutes. These days peeps like to go 250ish for an hour. If you have access to a high end juicer some people have good results that way. If nothing else the leafs are healthy for humans to eat.
Ive seen the leaf thing work a couple times since, but I never saw the plants the leafs came from so no idea how close to flower they were.
The trichomes are what have the psychoactive properties. If you cut down that plant and make edibles now you're not going to feel much - if anything at all.
I wouldn't see why not I didn't use the big sugar or fan leaves I just used the ones closest to buds after trimming it was my first try at it but turned out great I don't know how much thc is in big leaves but maybe worst could happen it won't be good lol
