I am trying to get my ppm to around 400. After watering the PPM was 197 so I added some CalMag and some Big Bloom to 1 gallon of water and tested the gallons PPM, which only came to 200 after adding 3 teaspoons of Big Bloom and 2 ml of CalMag. I was nervous about over doing it so I used that and tested the run off. The run off only tested at 226 PPM. How do I get the PPM up to the desired level without going over and hurting the plants? Do I need my gallon solution to be upwards of 500 PPM to bring the soil run off to 400? Do I need to use more than 3 tsp of Big Bloom? As always, thanks for the help.

Your plants will all have different needs. The good thing is they are eating pretty good. Just adjust future feedings according to how they are eating. According to the numbers, they all want more food except for Crystal. Your ph seems okay. Try to keep it between 6.2-6.8.
Ending the first week of flowering (I believe). I watered today with just 4ml of CalMag and pHd water from my RO system. Im noticing some yellowing of some leaves and a couple small holes in one plants leaves. Any ideas as to what this is and how to fix it???
Other than this yellowing, I can't for the lift of me figure out how to keep PPM steady. I dont have a problem with pH for the most part but PPM is driving me insane. Maybe I am setting the wrong expectations for each reading. Im shooting for 700-900ppm according to the cheat sheet in Mr. Grow Its book but I normally end up too high (during feedings) or too low (during waterings) . Here are my last few sessions numbers. I hope some of you experienced guys have some tricks to help me get this dialed in.
6/11 feeding
Amber: pH 6.6 PPM 638
Crystal: pH 6.0 PPM 1452
Trixie: pH 6.2 PPM 1279
Raven: pH 6.5 PPM 1050
6/15 watering
Amber: pH 6.2 PPM 453
Crystal: pH 6.4 PPM 939
Trixie: pH 6.5 PPM 464
Raven: pH 6.6 PPM 319
I went with a 1/3 of FF feeding schedule dosage for week 1 of flowering on the last feeding and think going to 1/4 dose will be the sweet spot but then when I go to water the next cycle, I worry it will drop really low (or is that whats supposed to happen???)
Finally, a pic of all the ladies.....and a few close ups

One more close up
The entire crew....ok I tried, but my internet connection sucks sooooo bad out here in the country, it wont let me upload a pic of the entire crew. I will try again later.
Thank you sir. I seem to be reading that the 500 scale is the more popular one, so i will stick with that one. Hey randj you might want to look into l.s.t. for your autos as opposed to topping. I have much better luck with autos if i manipulate the growth of the limbs instead of topping. Just a suggestion for a fellow grower, and good luck! Im about 1 or 2 weeks from harvest on 4 g14 autos im currently on. I will post pics as soon as my wife shows me how to work the expensive a$$ camera i bought for her :). Good growing to all!
Hey Mr. G, just outta curiosity while we are on this subject. I have a bluelab tds pen and it has the option for a 500 scale or 700. Does yours have this as well, and if so which one do you use or do you switch in between the two? Thanks for the help.
I know they say not to but I topped my auto blueberry because I want more than one main cola.it didn't seem to slow her down at all
And........ I still have my eye on crystal as a heavyweight.👍🌲💎
Spots are normal probably from water that got on leaves.dont sweat it.in my opinion.your plants are really healthy. You didnt go wrong with your light set up.lookin good Finn
Todays watering numbers: Is it time to feed certain plants and not others? or do I feed them all the same since theyre all on the same timeline.
Amber: pH 6.6 PPM 749
Crystal: pH 6.6 PPM 536
Trixie: pH 6.8 PPM 418
Raven: pH6.7 PPM 1272
I also notice the top of some plants show some white on the fibers.....I moved the lights up to 24" away. Theyve been growing so fast, I fell a little behind on measuring the height. The lights were at 20" when I measured and took this picture.
I also noticed a few of these spots on a handful of leaves. I moved the fan up a little higher in the tent to rule out wind burn......any thoughts as to what this is?
That soil must be really hot or you have a bad ppm meter. Plants look great though. If they start looking toxic, do a flush to get the ppm’s to the correct range.
Today 10/14 I watered the girls. I used a half dose of Cal Mag 1.5ml and used some pH UP to get my water from 5.9 to 6.8 with a goal of getting to 6.5pH. Im not sure why my PPMs went up though. The only think I can think of is that I watered them and waited 20 minutes to get a good representative sample in the run off water. Does collecting the run off water out of the saucer thats been under the plants since the beginning cause my PPMs to go up because of nutrient residual in the saucer???? That's the only logical explanation I can come up with. Im hoping Mr Grow It has an answer for this one.
The numbers from the last watering were as follows:
Raven pH 6.5 PPM 2230
Crystal pH 6.0 PPM 3690
Amber pH 6.0 PPM 4040
Trixie pH 6.2 PPM 3660
The number from today were as follows:
Raven pH 6.6 PPM 1960
Crystal pH 6.0 PPM 4700
Amber pH 6.3 PPM 3530
Trixie pH 6.3 PPM 4410
I will be starting another thread of LST as I think they're almost there with the 5th node growing as we speak.
Yes I know they all have stripper names and thats because my wife says I always have a grin on my face after visiting the girls.....lol. The light height is 23" for both lights and it seems like Raven is going to need a little pH Down on her next watering. Other than that I have stopped spraying the plants with water as of today and will just water and feed them as necessary. I am guessing that because my PPM is so high compared to the Mr. Grow It guide, that I will not have to add any nutrients this week. With that being said, should I still add CalMag to my waterings or is that not necessary until the PPM levels drop closer to the recommended PPM levels?
Looks like my autos at that age.
Closer photos of the Ladies
How are they looking for 11 days since sprouting???
Additional info.....
4x4 Apollo Grow tent
380 cfm fan with carbon filter
2 hanging wet towels for humidity (in a super dry area)
2-3 Taotronic humidifiers (this is what it took to get up to 60-70% humidity)
1 Lasko heater
1 airconditioner (temps swing 40 degrees daily here)
2 ES 300 LED lights 24" above the plant canopy.
12" Hurricane Oscillating fan set at MID level Oscillating hung above the lights at this time aiming slightly down. (The trees barely move at this point) . Built a rail system so I can move this up or down as needed.
All critical elements are on a UPS in case of power failure (OCD at its finest)
Dont know if this is where I should be at day 11 post sprout so please tell me if anything looks wrong with these little ladies. I will post additional close ups
If my pH is off, should I immediately rewater using some pH UP or pH DOWN depending on the need or wait 2-3 days until my next watering or feeding cycle?
another pic.....I tried to upload all of them at once but it didnt work. Granted I am not very tech savvy so I apologize in advance
I watered all 4 autoflower plants with 1/2 gallon of RO water each. What I cant figure out (and maybe this is normal IDK) is why 1 plant treated exactly the same as the others has a PPM of 192 and the other has a PPM of 373. Also, 1 plant has a pH of 5.9 while another is 7.8. Is it normal to have to micromanage each plant along the way adjusting PPM and pH individually or am I collecting the run off incorrectly or maybe some of the water that comes out of the sides of the fabric pot are diluting the PPM from the water that travels all the way through the grow soil? I tried to shoot a video of me watering the plants but I dont have FB, YouTube or Vimeo so I couldnt upload the video.
The plant is an autoflower, is currently in a 5 gallon fabric pot. This was my first attempt at feeding so I made 1 gallon of RO Water mixed with 2ml of Cal Mag and 3 teaspoons of Big Bloom (recommended is 6 teaspoons) . I measured the PPM prior to pouring on the Fox Farms soil and it was reading 212 PPM. I then waited for the run off to come out the bottom of the pot and and measured that at 198 PPM. When I previously watered the plant with water only, the PPM was 225. I am just starting week 2 and did my first feeding. The plants are currently 2-3 inches tall. I will post a pic later as my lights are in the off period and didnt want to take a flash photo.
