Greetings! I finished my first soil based (happy frog/ ocean forest mix) with synthetic liquid nutes by general hydroponics a few months ago. I am about to start my first organic grow. I have all of the following :
gaia greens trio
bat guano
blood meal
fish bone meal
kelp
unsulfured black strap molasses
they are being run under the Spider Farmer SE7000 LED
all of the seedlings (2x Northern Lights, 1xGelato, 2x Sour Diesel) are in red solo cups of happy frog and just broke soil an hour ago
my Question:
Do i premix all of the organic nutrients ?
if yes, I’m assuming to just follow the back of the containers
if no, when should I top dress? Is it like liquid nutrients where you use more nitrogen based nutes During veg and so on? I’m kind of lost on when to and how to mix or top dress for their first transplant.
No. You want to start them in your happy frog with nothing else since it's preloaded. Then in about 3 weeks you can add in the gaia green grow mix. 1 week before you flip to flower you top dress with the bloom nutrients and more kelp. Black strap molasses is useful for the whole grow but better for the last 4 weeks or so of flower in particular because the excess sugars put the microbes into overdrive, which boosts secondary metabolites.
As for the guano and meals I would be hesitant to add them because they are extremely potent. You doubled down on most of your nutrients except potassium. If you throw the nutrient ratios out of wack you might run into potassium deficiency because the availability of the other nutrients is so much higher. If you are dead set on using them you should add them in at a lower dose. Bat guano during veg and the meals in flower. Gaia green has what you need already though.
