Sup community,
So let's get right to it. I like to protect the crap outta my marijuana plants.
So my setup ahead of time has to be controlled for pests. My area has a crap ton of fungus gnats that I'm guessing are being bred somewhere close by. So to take measure ahead of time this is how I setup my pots.
*I'm gonna have a video on this soon on my channel* but I'll share here
I take a 3 gallon pot
Take 1 compostable plate. Line it all the way in the bottom so no crack or crevasses.
I pour 1 inch layer of sand.
Then I take the soil pour that in
Then I transplant the plant into container after that I top soil using 1 inch or 2 inches of fan to retain moisture and dry out the top quick so gnats can't make it their home.
IT WORKS, but you have to gently water each time.
So which brings me to my question.
If I have 2 inches of sand and I have soil in there too. I was measuring my run off and noticed that it was really acidic. I wonder if it's all the build up down there from salts from sand it measured about 4.5 run off.
I fed it ph'd water at 6.1 (since it goes up a bit in there) the fun off was measuring to about 5.1/5.2
So what I'm saying is, should I keep in mind the run off of my ph? or disregard/readjust for sand?
What are your thoughts?
Orale! indeed it did. Took a few days to fully get there, but yeah almost gonna trim and flip to flower :) thanks for all the help man didn't expect you to answer either lol Here's a more recent pic 👀
Found this notif in my junk mail :( So here's what happened. The next day, I noticed some discoloration and I thought nothing. The day after that the orange spots came up, then looked up on google to see what those spots were and it said phosphorous (never seen that), so I Ph'd soil it came out to almost 7. I drenched soil in 6.5 water and hit it with the cal mag as well and yeah immediately got better. Although run off stayed almost the same. Pictures are one day difference. My best guess could be that I do use the fox farm trio and maybe some of those nutes are at the bottom cause when I do water I water so it barely has run off. I just happened to measure it cause I saw that vid with you and "The grow tent" and I was like heck I'll measure it. Yeah, but I think there might be a few things at play. I'll have to do more measuring when I flush the plant and see if there is a more definitive way to measure with other mediums in the container. By the way BIG TIP I got from you the other day about backing lights off (even from the rec distance) becaause you said people "fry up there plants" lol I noticed my plants "praising" the other day and yeah sure enough now there's looking good. :) I have a marshydro sp3000 and tsl 2000 damn those things are STRONG, but well worth the sponduli 😁
Got a pic of the plants so we can take a look? If the plants look fine then we will most likely have different guidance than if the plants are suffering.
