What strain is it? Girl Scout Cookies Xtreme fem
Is it in Veg or Flower stage? VEG (seedling)
If in Veg, for how long? Seedling about 7 days since first sprout
If in Flower stage, For how long?
Indoor or outdoor? indoor grow tent with carbon filter with duct fan, a floor fan and a fan hanging at the canter of tent.
Soil, Soilless or Hydro? COCO
If soil/soilless, what is in your mix? If soil/soilless, what size pot? using CANNA professional plus coco coir with about a 70/30 mix with perlite with a buffering of 5ml per gallon of CALMAG. currently in solo cups.
Size of grow space (LxWxH)? 3x3x6
Make and model of grow light? Spider Farmer LED SF 2000 (struggling best height/ dim setting for seedlings)
Temperature in the environment? 73 - 79 F
Humidity in the environment? 67-75 RH. Was a problem letting fluctuate from 60 -90 before installing carbon filter with good duct fan. now RH is easier to keep consistent.
PH of medium or reservoir? Dont have a good medium PH tester yet but run off PH is around 6.2
PPM of medium or reservoir? EC runoff has been between 300-400 since fertilizing following the COCO for Cannabis web site advice
Any Pests? no
How often are you watering? Twice a day with feeding
Type and strength of nutrients used? Fox Farm big bloom, Fox farm grow big, CalMag.
Last feeding strength: 2ml CalMag, 1tsp big bloom, .5tsp Growbig per gallon of water which we then diluted until the EC was between 383-402 with a PH of 6.1-6.3
Im sure there are plenty of things we could be doing better. We still feel un-easy about basic things like fertilizing, correct lighting, and proper air flow. But we are having fun learning as we go. But we did notice some sign of deficiencies and are looking for some advice. We noticed the true leaves of our bigger seedling were getting wavy and getting slightly lighter in color. one of the leaves has a tiny browning/bleaching spot. ive read that this could be calcium deficiency, and have been bottle spraying the seedling leaves with CALMAG water(800 EC) twice a day since noticing the wavy leaves as is suggested on the cocoforcannabis.com page. I have noticed signs of our smaller seedling getting a little wavy as well but not nearly as bad. I could ask a million Q's but want to take it a step at a time! Extremely grateful!!
heres a cool video and some pics with better light.
Whats up yall! Made it to this point despite several issues along the way. They definitely got stressed a few times during flower and the buds are definitely not as swelled up as ive seen in grows from others. We ran out of room so we had to let the 2 bigger plants get the majority of light during flower. The main issues we had was keeping a consistent climate in our grow room due to our lower quality AC/heating system in our home, we had nute burn during mid flower which we think may have been from continuing high doses of cal mag during flower which we later read is not needed, and we definitely could have trained the plants better. But with that being said, despite the smaller size buds, we are happy with the looks and smells of the plants. Opening up the tent u get hit with a sweet smell like fruity pebbles.
Our two main plants are at slightly different stages with this one still having white pistols sticking up and seems to be swelling a little each day. We checked the trichomes and they were a mix of cloudy and clear with a couple amber here and there. We prefer a more sedative high so we think we want to shoot for 20-30% amber. We are unsure if she is ready for flush since she seems to still be growing with the white pistols and dont want to rush it.
Our other plant here has had all of the pistol hairs turn orange and curl up and have actually been like that for a while. this plant showed the biggest signs of nute burn in the middle of flower and the leaves got pretty dark green. We started the flush for this one yesterday since we saw more amber tops on some of these buds, but still very few.
Overall we are happy even tho pretty disappointed in what looks will be an under achieving yield. We are learning and looking forward to this finish and starting again with a ton of new knowledge. Heres some pics of the trichomes!!!!
HeY yall here are the GSC Xtreme about 3 weeks in to flower. As u can see one of the ladies decided to stretch almost a full foot taller than the other two! This has caused an issue with light distance that we need some advice on. our spider farm 2000 light is as high as it can go, and the top bud spot is about 7 in away from the light while most of the other grow sights are around 15-19 in away from the light. This has us thinking most of our grow sights could be getting better light and that our top spot could get damaged being that close.
Spiderfarm recommends 12-18 inches during flower, but we dont know how much we can push that. We tied the main branch towards a tent post to get it out of direct light, though the spot itself has been fine for several days being 7-8 inches from the light except for slight tacoing of the fan leaves. So we r kind of caught in between if anyone has advice on how close is too close, and if we should maybe keep the top spot pulled away and lower the light so all the other sights are getting the optimal amount of light? We just dont know lol but here are some more pics!!!! Thanks yall!
Planning on flipping in the next couple of days. plants got extremely bushy and this is them after a couple of rounds of nervous defoliation (first time), and there are more spots i feel like i should remove but i dont want to go too hard. Planning on a flush before flipping because we have had some inconsistent run off EC numbers that we would like to re-set. Was wondering if the nutes we feed directly after flush should include the new flowering mix that is suggested on the FF schedule, or if we should wait till after the first 12 hour night to start the new mix. If anyone has any advice for the first time delving into a budding plant would be great. I know we need to read up on feeding during stages of flowering. Thanks again for all the help and info in throughout the forum.
Just transplanted to 3 Gal fabric pots. We probably waited a few days too long due to being out of town. They seem a little stressed but overall going good. We notice some signs of clawing with darker green color on the tips on some of the leaves, which we read was nitrogen toxicity though we learned that this is somewhat rare for plants in VEG. We lowered the dose of the FF grow big and the new growth looks better. We are considering doing a flush of some kind if we continue to see clawing or just in general after a few days in the final pots. We want to give it a couple of days after transplant before we attempt some low stress training, and we are noticing that our space is filling of fast already. Thinking we may need to flip to flower sooner than later to keep them at a manageable size!
Learning a lot reading through the other posts in the forum thanks for all the help yall!
Thank u sir! I have a basic question about feeding microbes. We just bought Myco Chum, and we arent sure how often we should be feeding with myco chum in relation to our twice a day feeding schedule. any advice with that would be great!!
Nice recovery
Transplanted to medium size pots using Great White and they seem to be doing well! The one on the left is the one that has had issues, the one on the right has had very minimal signs of the same issues, and the one in the middle that we started 4 days after the others has looked pretty good so far.
This one on the left ended up getting several brown spots on the original true leaves, and the second pair of true leaves had some signs of stress as well but no brown spots, and all the new growth since then looks much better!
^
We have lowered the PH of the mix going in and gradually raised the EC. Trying to observe and learn its been a lot of fun so far!!
PH was 6.2 but our PH meter is shaky and we are waiting for a new one. it currently doesnt even work but it seemed to be working ok when we tested our mix 2 days ago at 6.2
This lady keeps twisting and now has a little brown spot on this leaf. the new true leaves look fine so far though. Ive seen similar pictures online that say this could be calcium deficiency but have read about other issues that this could possibly be. Thanks Yall!
Thank you for the response! What would your recommendation be for ml of water to put in solo cups with coco? We have been experimenting from 30ml to 100ml usually getting at least 50% run off. Thanks!
Looking good! The wavy leaves as a seedling usually isn't anything to worry about but it could be the starting sign of over watering. I'd give it another 5-7 days or so and see how it looks then.
Here is the top view where u can see the slight spotting on the top leaf. Thanks for providing this platform im thinking it will be extremely valuable for us!
