i had the same thought and even tried it to nothing but a mistake - it just made more of a mess
i removed all the main seals to the bottles and now when i shake them i cover the punch hole in the cap just to be sure it does not spray all over
not sure of the purpose of the punch holes - i just use like any normal bottle but again i cover the hole in cap to be safe when shaking the bottles
