How do I get fresh air into my grow tent? I opened the ports on the bottom of my tent but I am skeptical that my 4 inch ac infinity exhaust fan will be enough to get fresh air in my 4x4..
@chonging.kong Ok, so you did add that into your CFM calculation. You should be good. Only concern I can think of is if your grow light produces too much heat and you can't exhaust it quick enough. Have you already tested that?
When I had the tent cracked it was noticeable that it was sucking the tent in, I now opened two vents and have them both cracked all the way, still shows noticeable sucking by the vents vs the whole tent now.The 4inch t4 fan in a tent that's 48x48x60 needs 185 cfm apparently and the t4 at speed setting 8 is at 171, at speed 9 it will be 187 and 10 205. So investing in a bigger inline may be beneficial but I'm no expert.I did have the idea of using my HPS Fans I use on Radiator cooling for my PC which can force a crap ton of air inside the vents but I still need to test out the wall power for the fans to make sure it gets enough voltage to have good rpms since there is no wall controller for those style of fans and figure out a way to mount it.
A 6" would definitely be ideal. As for the vents, as long as there is no exterior lighting that may leak in, then it should be fine. If that's a potential risk, what I've done is just bend a piece of ducting from the vents to prevent this. There are other's who have done something different.
Do you have a carbon filter connected to the fan or no?
How is the pressure on the walls of the tent? I am using a 4" as well in my 4x4 and haven't needed an intake
