Hey, I've been reading a lot lately and im getting 200 feminized seeds. What I have gathered, the best method for germination is to just leave the seeds in a quarter cup of water till i see a 1/4" to 1/2" root in a dark room above 70 degrees.
Then put the seed root down about 1/8" to 1/4" soil. Correct?
2) when i place the seed root down in a plastic cup, best is to pour 1/4 of cup of water into the soil and cover it with a plastic bag till it sprouts.
3)sprout + 48 hours should be watered by a spray every 2-3 hours just to keep it moist.
4) when i see the 2nd node, its time to transplant into a bigger pot. All this is Correct?
5) 3rd node is when CalMag should be introduced
6) 4th Node: vegetation nutrients should be introduced.
7) 5th node: to perform LST. any links you can hook me up for a step by step tutorial?
Thanks
Hey. Hope ur all well.
I have setup everything and passed the germination stage.
I will use Bigbloom, growbig and tigerbloom.
My final pots are 40cm in diameter, and require around 15kg of soil.
Right now my seeds are in small plastic cups and i wont start feeding till i transplant them into my final pots. Since the soil i got already has vitamins.
Can someone elaborate more on how MUCH should I feed?
Because the table shows that i should be mixing 6 tsps of bigbloom in a gallon of water (3.78 Liters). This is the concentration.
They say i should feed twice a week. So i should be feeding my newly transplanted (into big pot) around 1.9 L of bigbloom twice each week.
Is this correct?
Isnt that too much?
Any insight at this stage is appreciated.
Oh my friend you have no idea. I tell my wife all the time that anything I read about somewhere, I can find the complete opposite info somewhere else. It can be frustrating and sometimes there is such thing as "too much" info. I have been on many different cannabis forums and this is definitely one of the better ones, for the simple fact that it seems kinda smaller and more intimate as opposed to one with 1,000,000,000 members. But yes the lack of real knowledge and overabundance of B.S. is staggering
Hey congrats on the bumper crop of seeds lol. In order to see your trichomes you will need to buy a jewelers loupe or something along those lines so you can see a magnified image of them. Flushing is something you usually do at the end of your run to get any remaining nutrients out of your plant ( although this process is still highly debatable in the industry). And one last tidbit, you will come to find over time that growing these ladies that we all love so much is something you can learn to do by reading books and doing research but you will gain TONS of knowledge just by going through the process. You will see how the plants will "talk" to you in a sense and let you know what they need. Experience in the process is priceless.
Ok some more questions to wrap it up:
1) when should i finish the vegetative stage and turn the lights to 12/12?
50 days after sprout?
Note: all my seeds are fems.
2) it is mentioned that the harvest should be when the trichomes are amber/cloudy. I should begin flushing prior 2 weeks before this.
How should i know WHEN the trichomes will become amber/cloudy so i start the flushing process? any indication?
3) is flushing done everytime the soil is dry (i.e. every 2 or 3 days)?
So basically it's instead of simply watering?
4) during flushing period, light shall always be 12/12. Correct?
5) any good link on how to correctly trim buds?
Thanks
Yes. 200 fem seeds, but wont plant all of them once. Maybe 10 or 15 😅.
Yes. I have been doing recap tables and following ur book to the word. Going full SAT on it lol.
I have reached page 71.
The questions i asked are because i didnt find them in ur 2017 version and i like to be precise 😇Specially the cup/towel thing needed clearer explanation.
Im gona go with Soil with embedded basic nutrients.
Also some more detailed LST, topping and prunning in ur next book would be helpful. Maybe direct links for a better step by step guide.
Will do what you said above on transplanting till 3rd node maybe.
I will wing the calmag and veg nutrients for 3rd and 4th respectively.
Wow 200 fem seeds. Sounds like a lot of work ;) The method you explain will work just fine. Some of the information you mention is from the 2017 version of my ebook. I have made some revisions but the new version is not yet released. The 2nd node transplant, 3rd node CalMag and 4th node veg nutes have been revised to be a bit more clear. The 2nd node transplant is the absolute earliest time to transplant. Some growers don't transplant until the 3rd, 4th, or even 5th node. So you don't need to be exact there. Are you growing in soil or coco coir? I can advise a bit better on the other things if I know that info.
Here's an introduction video on LST:
