Hey Gow folk!
I saw the Grove bags and, pondering the labor savings and long term storage potential, I decided to try them out. Some of you mentioned the same thing so I thought I would share my experience to inform those on the fence.
Just so you know, the Grove product is priced accordingly, but shipping is astronomical for what is being shipped, so I bought a variety to defray that hit to the head.
A couple of years ago I made a "burp bucket" via the Ganjier/Derek Gilman videos because I could automate it. I used jars before and still store in some.
The claim is you don't need to burp these during cure and they serve as long term storage as well. All without use of humidifier packs needed at any stage. Just keep them in a cool environment temp wise, they take care of the rest.
With the aid of a wine storage fridge on my end, eh, might be onto something here.
So, here is what we are doing-
Half a container of each, going for 4 weeks of cure.
-The bags seal and stay sealed.
-The bucket gets set up with timer to burp 4 times a day for first week, 3 the second , 2 the third and once a day the final week.
-The jar gets a small hygrometer in with it and burps manually, daily.

Here is some of the info provided

The large clear bag the other ones are on is also a Grove "wicket" turkey bag model, for big hauls, but not sealable like others, meant for breathing/burping-

My Christmas grow was some Blueberry so I thought these bags were appropriate- Grove has some of the more popular flavors available-
Well, will update to let you know!
Merry Christmas!!
Update- All Good Along the Western Drying Front....
So for those keeping up, all 3 methods are rocking right along- I have been burping jars a bit, staying in the 57-62 nicely on their own. I check the bucket once a week and the hygrometer reads roughly 60% with a few degrees either way- buds are not as "crisp"on outside but not in such a way it is worrisome- It actually is a bit harder to maintain as I don't have it in the wine fridge like the Groves and the jars but in a room where I have the humidifier keeping 55-60%. The air the pump puts into the bucket needs to be at 60-
the 20th-21st is month cure for first Dawg and the Blueberry with second Dawg couple weeks behind.
My goal is to see if the method of trimming right into the Groves and then into cold storage via wine fridge until use is viable. Huge labor saver, short term curing and long term storage solution all in one product. For me, if works, cuts out glass jars, buckets, timers, controlling environment beyond dry and where in a desert do you store cured dry flower until use without Terp degradation...so many things that can keep a grower up at night....
Ok, it for now, back soon with a final report of my experience anyway-
Stay Frosty Growmies!!!
Good stuff; thanks for sharing your experience!
Great post, thanks. That's more information than I was able to find on their site!
The Sealing unit, is that included or do you need to purchase that separately?
Good idea using a wine fridge, sounds like keeping it below 70f is important.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see how the comparison goes.
Have fun!
I just ordered some! I will definitely be watching this thread. Have read good things about them!
