I have received 2 different seeds/strains and on the package they both say 8 weeks. What is that duration referring to (i.e. total grow duration, veg duration,?)? With the duration is it 50% veg and 50% flower or what's the best practice when determining this?
Thanks in advance
Thank you for the quick reply!
Hi, assuming your seeds are Photo Period and not Auto Flower then the 8 weeks refer to how long to harvest once you start flower ... so 100% flower.
Depending on the strain, most people will veg for a minimum of 4-8 weeks. The longer you veg, the bigger the plant gets and the bigger the plant gets, the more bud it will produce.
Once you flip to flower, your plant will grow maybe another 30%+/-. So when your girls look like they are taking up close to 70% of your grow space you should flip them to flower for the start of the 8 weeks. Of course you can flip to flower earlier if they are as big as you want them to get.
If they are Auto Flower, then 8 weeks starts from they day they sprout and then around 8 weeks later it will be ready to harvest. If your seed packs do not say Auto then assume they are Photo Periods.
Good luck and have fun!
