Hello everyone, new grower here (first grow!)...looking to settle a debate between me and the Mrs. =)
We have 3 plants total, 1 GDP Auto and 2 Blue OG Photos in a 2x4 tent under LED's in soil.
We're using 3 gallon fabric pots, watering every 3 days until about 20% runoff, and alternating our Feed and Water Plus (as we call it) days. So feed, water, feed, water, and so on.
We have detailed runoff measurements for each feed using a newer, calibrated Apera PC60, but
throughout the entire grow all measurements have been really high.
At first, I thought it was the horrible tap water here in the desert, but even after subtracting that out, it's still well out of range.
We're using the FF "Soil Feeding Schedule" at half strength for the Auto and full strength for the Photos.
The logic here is that the schedule says to, "Feed Up To Twice Per Week" and our plants only get fed Nutrients once per week with the 3 day schedule we're on. *This is the part that we can't agree on* as everyone says to use half strength. But is that half strength feeding twice per week or full strength if we only feed once every 6 days.
The thing that's throwing me off, is the plants look perfectly healthy and the only issue I've had was a self created; "hey, what happens if we don't feed cal-mag this week?" Not a good decision for the Auto.
Hopefully that makes sense and my brain can stop overthinking this. Thanks in advance!
This is what the plants look like after a full strength feeding.
Ppm ? Soil? Only water as they need it. I give molasses in the plain water every 4th watering.
Hi, I had to read this a few times but I think I understand your question. What you want is a half strength feeding twice per week. So when ever she needs feeding be it every 3 days or whatever, giver her half strength. She will let you know if she gets hungry and wants more.
Watering/feeding every 3 days with 20% runoff sounds like a lot. If your girls need that much then great, but you should let your soil dry out a bit between watering/feedings.
More information about the water you are using, the PPM readings you are seeing and the type of soil might be helpful.
So ..... who did I side with in the debate you or the Mrs.? 😁 lol
