Something I would love to see discussed on here are products that are known (because they provide info) or have been rumored (suspicion or home lab tests) to have PGR’s or carcinogens in their products. I’m new to growing and I did so much research on the process that I really skipped the essence of why we grow....knowing what’s in our weed. I recently ordered Snow Storm Ultra and almost ordered the entire line by HCO. I was sad to find out it contains PGR (Plant growth regulators) and the company has been rumored to contain harmful (cancer causing ingredients). Whether this is true or not it’s enough for me to stay away. Threw out the bottle when I got home. I’m considering using Fox Farm trio or Humboldts Secret starter pack. Do any of you know if those are safe? Also just thinking about using Down to Earth and just building my soil from now on.

If you want to understand how things work (which is key to getting your stuff dialed in), look into the "soil food web". From there you can look at different techniques like KNF and JADAM.
When you start to develop your soil it will get better and better and better.
Your ladies will also do better all the time.
Once you know how you want to grow, then you look at healthy sourcing of your amendments.
If this is something you want to get good at, it can be a lifetime of learning.
I, like you, started on the bottles. I switched to living soil and there has been no looking back. You can try something else and I'm sure there are some good ones, but in time you sound like the type of person to end up at living soil anywho, so I would probably just spend the money on ammendments. Good Growing!
Welcome to the party.
It is called living soils.
It's good that you care what you are putting in your body
