My girls started yellowing from bottom up today. They were green today with maybe a couple bottom leaves barely yellow this morning. Looks like maybe some clawing on a couple leaves.
I fed them this morning as they were droopy asking for water with Advanced Nutrients and Cal-Mag. I've been alternating straight water and nutrients. Is this nitrogen toxicity or something else? The leaves don't look dark green enough for toxicity. Thanks in advance for any and all help and suggestions!
Grow info: Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil (but it's been a few months so definitely out of nutrients), photos that are in flowering... I think almost week 3 of flowering. No major swings in temps or humidity.
Nice recovery! I'm sure there will be minimal (if any) impact to the buds since you're so close to harvest.
So glad things got better and those are some nice looking buds!
And nice close ups of the trichomes too. How do guys get those nice close up pictures? I can never get them that clear.
Update! So I flushed a little, and have been pHing going forward and things haven't gotten worse! I waited a little bit to post because... well the plants seemed to get bad but after fixing the pH all bad things stopped! Thank you all so much!
Here's pictures of the "fixed" plants. Things are no longer getting worse (I promise) my pH and ppm are at correct levels. There's some minor new growth that is green and great although it seems they are chunking up the buds more than anything. So much so that one splayed out sideways!
I staked it and put a halo around it. Today a second was starting to show signs so I premtively made a halo around it. Now I know why people use the net...
And since I'm getting close, here's a microscope pic of each! 3 look pretty cloudy and the third looks pretty clear. No amber yet so I have another week or two I suppose.
When my soil ph drops like that unusually flush at 6.7 to even 7.0. Then I follow with a half nutrient feed at 6.7-6.9 then recheck the soil each day. Usually a day or two later I'm around 6.2-6.5. In my grows ffof always drops out early flower. I started doing a higher ph flush just before flower, and usually water/feeding higher the rest grow depending where soil ph is at.
Soil pH is a bit low 5.87 (Not runoff, used a slurry test of root soil sitting in 7.0 water for 30 minutes then strained out).
PPM I ran some water through to get some runoff and it was 495 which is lower than the 750-950 suggested. Could this be lower because I just ran straight water or is this still accurate?
So the fix.. do I flush now to bring pH up immediately or just make sure my watering/feeding is 7.0 with correct PPM range going forward?
What is the pH and PPM of the soil runoff?
Eh, as long as we learn right? 😅 All good.
Yep, just went through nute lockout bc of FFOF dropping my ph like a #@&!...
My grow looked just like that, until I figured it out.
If possible definitely get a ph and ppm of the soil. If the medium ph is off the yellow leafs are mild to what's coming. If you are unable to get those, flush, flush flush. I also use ffof and wk 3 flower if I haven't been adjusting the medium is usually low to mid 5s.
The community is going to want to know your ph in and out, and also the ppm's of your runoff, to give you a more precise diagnosis.
