Hi all,
My first post here and it's a question :)
I bought "7 Steps to Grow Cannabis" as I am very new to indoor growing (I've never done it) and I have a question about flushing I was hoping someone could answer for me.
On page 81, it says " Take the size grow pot (in gallons) and double that number." So, if I had a 3-gallon pot, that would take 6 gallons of flushing.
The problem is that it doesn't show how often you flush or at what quantity?
For example, is it one massive 6-gallon flush that's done all in one go (highly unlikely), is it a one-gallon flush per day for 6 days, or is it a half-gallon flush per day for 12 days?
I have not bought a single thing concerning growing yet (other than your ebook, which I find very easy to follow and full of useful info) - but I do plan on buying a pH meter when I get around to it. I was told I wouldn't really need a TDS unless going Hydroponic.
Hi Mr.Grow it.
That was me who asked the question but I was still a little unsure of the answer and didn't want to be a pest and keep asking, so I registered on the site and thought I'd ask here.
I get the impression that the flush is an 'all in one - all at once' administration and then harvest.
Thanks for buying my ebook! It's funny, someone else asked me the same exact question through email and I responded to it yesterday.
The "flush double the amount in gallons" is a generalĀ rule and can be adjusted. The most accurate way is to use a PPM meter to monitor the PPM of the runoff. So for example, say you flush a 3-gallon pot with 6-gallons of water, on that last gallon you put through the medium, check the runoff PPM. After flush, you can just give plain pH'd water for the final weeks. You don't need to flush again unless you see the plant isn't fading or if the runoff PPM is too high still.
A friend of a friend of mine - uses apple juice in his feed. Not sure of the details but he's been growing for years.
I'll be using things like Biobizz. It seems a popular choice in the UK
So initially you flush (for example) a 3 litre pot with the full 6 gallons of water all at once, and then water as normal?
Hi toasterr, thanks for the reply.
Perhaps you do flush all at once. Shows how much I know! :D
Although I don't have much experience with other books to judge it by, I found 7SGG a very easy book to read through.
I too just finished my first indoor grow. And followed the same book to the letter. I read that as all at once. In other words; I flushed my 5 gallon pots all at once with 10 gallons of water.
