@mwhite9829 you said you were going to use earth dust this next grow (outside) are you still going to pH your water? I have (4) little ladies that will be transplanted into their forever pots. (2) of the pots will have earth dust, the other (2) will have Build a soil 3.0 both manufacters state that pHing water is not needed. I was just wondering your take on that.
@SinnerSpread I do have plants outside using earth dust. I water straight from the garden hose with those. Earth dust is new to me so not sure what the outcome will be but I'm going to find out lol. I will make a post on those in a couple weeks once see how it goes or starts failing. I'm also using a generic home made medium as well so that could epic fail as well.
I don't think I would be to concerned about my ph before adding anything, considering whatever you add will most likely affect it. The temperature also has influence on it. Colder when you first check and warmer later on.
I've had pH rise, that has sat in containers for more than say 3 days. Each container was open bc I read that the chlorine evaporates from the water when not sealed... not sure how true that is, but yeah .. leave pHed water in open containers for a few days and it will rise.
@SinnerSpread my water sits a few days as well will air. My pH goes up like .5 a little higher if it's warmer. I still don't mess with changing pH until added nutrients or ready to water.
Hi, I have read that leaving water exposed to the air can raise the PH level, something about the CO2 in the air. Is your water sealed for those few days?
No. I pH the water from 7 to 6.5 ahead of time by a few days. BEFORE adding anything when I check the pH it’s back up to 7.3. Higher then when I started. Is this normal?
I don't pH before adding nutrients, usually causes using to much pH controller. I'm guessing you are pH down then once added nutrition you have to pH up?
After you pH, how long do you wait until you take a measurement?
