Noticed some smell coming from Kratky pot without air stones so did a water change and put an air stone in it and the smell is gone. She is about ready for harvest.... didn't fatten up as well as Id like but her trichomes are all cloudy with whole hell of a lot of amber and heck of a lot of fading. I was hoping to get another week out of her but nope, she gets chopped down tomorrow.
The other 2 that had air tones in are also doing great, maybe another week for them but trichome development is nice and buds are getting heavy as you can see by the lean.
The smells coming off these 3 ladies are motor oil, burnt rubber with some pine and citrus. Fricken weird! I KNOW.
After last weeks res change I noticed the plant without the airstones (the true kratky) has developed purple stems and branches. Also noticed trichomes developing on all 3 plants on fanleaves and future bud sites.
Had to switch back to veg times last week to accommodate seedlings for my next run but did some heavy defole and Lolli popping this morning to get them where I need them to be. Gonna let em rest for a few days and flip back into 12/12.
Noticed RH in this tent remains around 50% at all times (guessing because of all the transpiration going on)
Roots on the dwc buckets are continuing to discolor while the one in the middle has grown taller than the dwc buckets its roots are still vibrant but not as long and flowing. At this point I dont know which is better nor am I worried about it too much.
Main goal for me is just do the damn thing and get a harvest.
Its weird that the more I do this the less plants I want to have but striving for bigger ones.
Thankfully our weather is cooling off and I am able to control my space so much better.
Decided to flip them into flower this week to finish off the most important part of this experiment.... flower power! And the obvious space issue in this tent.
Changed over to bloom nutes with a complete water change.
@jcarson702 it's been several years since I did hydro. I'd recommend doing some searching and see what makes sense for you. IIRC I used to top off the solution with something on the low end of the pH range. Then once in a while I'd replace the whole solution. Once the plants take off they're going to be using water faaaaaast. You should also be testing TDS or EC as well to get the full picture of what's going on.
So today I set up this run under a VIPARSPECTRA P2000 and using Lotus Nutes.
Clones the 3 back and right are from a Jack 47 pheno that I have been running for the last year in soil and look forward to seeing how these girls do in a passive set up. The bottom left bucket is an unknown strain that I have been running since my first grow a couple years ago.
wow thank you
Loved reading your post and checking out the pics. Congrats on the grow.
Congrats on your harvest! Thanks for sharing with us
WEEK 14 HARVEST
The first girl chopped down today.
WEEK 13 UPDATE
Noticed some smell coming from Kratky pot without air stones so did a water change and put an air stone in it and the smell is gone. WEEK 12 UPDATE
Flowers are very light looking and very airy. Pistils still very long .
Roots are are getting too heavy for me to lift up and get root pics.
Trichome development looking good with most still clear and some turning very light amber. Loving the boofy/larfy popcorns on the bottom.
Im hoping for another 2 weeks to get them ripened and solid.
We will see.
WEEK 11 UPDATE
Having a hard time adjusting ph and ppms with the plants changing needs.
Locked out a couple times over the last 2 weeks with ppms into the 2100 range had me adding more water and more ph down to keep it range.
A little fading on the plant had me a little worried but..... it is just an experiment.
Also having a little trouble with the plant leaning and have to bungi the plant upright.
WEEK 10 UPDATE
A little different update here as I have been playing with my camera and trying to take better close ups.
But the Kratky is still doing better than the other 2 buckets with air stones but those other 2 are doing good.
She is stacking and packing.
WEEK 9 MERRY XMAS UPDATE!
So far so good, Im loving this grow technique and really cant wait to start clones of these 3 in a flood table.
WEEK 8 UPDATE
So far so great! I have never had plants grow as vigorous as these 3.
Trichome development on fan leaves, stems and petioles just amazes me.
Really not used to the different ways this cultivar is expressing itself in this grow style in comparison to the last 4 times I have grown it in dirt.
WEEK 7 UPDATE
After last weeks res change I noticed the plant without the airstones (the true kratky) has developed purple stems and branches. Also noticed trichomes developing on all 3 plants on fanleaves and future bud sites.
WEEK 6 UPDATE
Had to switch back to veg times last week to accommodate seedlings for my next run but did some heavy defole and Lolli popping this morning to get them where I need them to be. Gonna let em rest for a few days and flip back into 12/12.

WEEK 5 UPDATE:
The buckets with the air stones have their roots growing long and starting to discolor a bit in comparison to buckets without airstones.
Their roots are short but still vibrant and all these girls are growing and putting on size but they are all lime green.
Gonna try and seek out the problem. PPM are somewhat high since nute change last week.
Running average is 1300 ppm at 5.9-6.1 PH and water is at 63* (assuming water is too cold)
But for now did a partial bucket change to bring ppm down to 1000.
WEEK 4 UPDATE
Thankfully our weather is cooling off and I am able to control my space so much better.
Decided to flip them into flower this week to finish off the most important part of this experiment.... flower power! And the obvious space issue in this tent.
Changed over to bloom nutes with a complete water change.
Nice job so far @jcarson702 !
WEEK 3 UPDATE
Putting on some size.
UPDATE WEEK 2
Added air stones to the back 2 as @theWilly suggested.
Notice my ph drifting from original 6 to 6.5.
Just wanted to give it a go, wanted to experiment. I keep fish tanks as well and have the equipment to upgrade to dwc but.....
So today I set up this run under a VIPARSPECTRA P2000 and using Lotus Nutes.

Appreciate the feedback.
