So my ppm is pretty high with the city water with the nuts I use puts me over 800ppm. So I was thinking of purchasing a water filter to cut down on the distilled water cost. But what about rain water? I haven't tested it but I would think it's ppm would be low and maybe there is some other benefits. What is everyone's thoughtful. My first thought is " Idon't want to bring anything from outside into my grow tent"

We did 50 Huge outdoor plants on nothing but collected and contained storm water, adjusted pH as needed, used that water with nutes as well. Best free way to go. Just make sure the containers are very clean and sealable if yr going to store the water. Rock out growski.
I know that you can have low ph rainwater aka "acid rain" .
UPDATE , set up a rain collection with a .5 micro carbon filter and it works GREAT !!! Explosive grow. I even did a seedling in rain water and one in tap water and the rain water did awesome !!!! I cant explain it, but the rain water has around 40ppm and 7.5 ph
Rain water will absolutely work. That's what outdoor plants use ;) ... You will still need to feed the plant fertilizer though. Also, rainwater is typically acidic; so you'll most likely need to pH adjust the water.
