I have a question that I hope you can answer or maybe address on one of your YouTube channels….
If I want to clone from a plant that started as female but hermed during veg will that clipping be hermaphrodite or will it grow as a female? I know all females have a recessive gene that allows it to become hermaphrodite when stressed to help the survival of the species, but if your clipping shows no sign of it morphing into a herm will it still grow as a hermaphrodite or will it grow as a female? Or did it’s genetics flip a switch in its DNA throughout the whole plant and any clipping from the plant will be hermaphrodite?
Thanx!
I watch and learn from you and your friends constantly and appreciate your thoughtful answers about horticulture in general and cannabis in particular. I hope y’all never stop growing and teaching!!
I think it may depend on why it hermied. If you had the perfect environment and they still grew pollen sacks, then I suspect the clones would too. If they went funky due to stress issues, then the clones you took before they hermied could be perfectly fine.
You mentioned they hermied during veg. What do you mean by that? Are you talking pre-flower? You usually do not run into these issues until bloom.
