What’s up fellow growers,
I’m currently in week 6 of the veg stage. I’m growing Gelato and Zkittlz. Topped my plants a week ago and I’ve been doing some LST. I’ve also been trimming a lot of the fan leaves . Should I not do that? Please let me know. Please see the pics below and let me know if I’m doing anything wrong or if there is anything I should be doing. Please let me know yuor thoughts
thank you all!💯💪🏽

Thanks friend only second grow
Looking good brother keep pics posted and happy growing my first girl is almost done auto bruce banner
What’s up fellow growers,
I have an update on my girls. I removed the orange LST clips. I was definitely doing too much😂🤦🏽♂️ I’m currently on week 8 (overall) Still in the veg stage. Do you think I should trim the bottom 1/3? I’m wondering if I should use a trellis net or is it too soon? I’m probably doing too much again 😂😎
Thanks for all the feedback!!! I really appreciate it💯💪🏽 (Side note...had to get a new fan. My ultra yield clip fan kept getting stuck. Waiting for the replacement from ultra yield, but I think I’ma stick with the tower fan for now) 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Interesting training technique! I'm curious to see how the plants have developed 🌳
I agree I'm a newbie but I don't trim any leaves when the girls are that small are they auto or photo
I was thinking the same thing as Cap. I would think the lower branches are the ones to go so you can have a clear understory. I also think you would want a bit more foliage because at some point you will need the plant to have a decent amount of leaves to support the rest of the life. Long story short . .
you could stunt the plant if you take too much. My OPINION is that you're pretty close to that line . . again OPINION.
Good Growing
No problem. Lots of opinions on this sort of thing, I hope others chime in. I'm always interested in hearing different ways to do things.
Let her get big and bushy before you remove anymore from the bottom. If you can look down at the plant from the top and not see any soil, then you are in the ball part for a trim.
Pest, molds and fungus just love those damp shady areas near the soil with stagnant air. That's why people trim the bottom 1/3rd and have a fan blowing below the canopy as well as above.
Exciting stuff, have fun!
Hi, that seems a little on the extreme side to me but I am sure your girls will be fine. I would hold off doing any more trimming until you have a nice thick even canopy going. Personally, I will trim out the bottom 1/3rd of the plant once it gets so big and bushy you cannot see the soil anymore.
Once it is in Bloom, I wait about 3 weeks and do another smaller top trim mostly to make sure bud sites are not blocked and I will remove fan leaves at that time, but only if they are blocking bud sites.
I figure those big fan leaves are like giant solar panels sucking in energy for the plant and only cut them off if they are blocking bud sites.
