Hello all, so I’m sitting here wondering about harvesting time. I’ve heard cloudy is at it’s most potent for a nice uplifting high. Amber or red from what I understand is more of a couch lock. Now my question is, when you pick the strain and the site says 60%sativa and 40% indica, what does that mean according to your harvest time? Would it lean more toward sativa at cloudy, and lean towards indica if more amber but only up to 40%? I’m def curious how it works so please help ladies and gents, thank you in advance!

If you have a smartphone you can try to take a picture with your phone then zoom into the picture to see the color of the trichomes. If that doesn't work, this microscope works pretty well https://amzn.to/3okgKRG . Simply snip off a piece of bud then place onto a table then place the microscope on the table over it for a steady view.
I had no idea there was a community issue with sativa and indica lol so ya that did help. I’m sure at some point every cultivar/ strain will end up hybrid anyway And all the originals will be only for breeding I can imagine. this def helped a lot... I guess first step is a jewelers loop! any recommendation broseph??
This is a hard question to answer since many think we need to stop calling them sativa and indicia all together. Cloudy tricomes are full potency and amber trichomes have degraded from THC to CBN - which as you mention can feel more like a couch lock. The color of the trichomes don't relate to it being a sativa or an indica. It's totally subjective on when to harvest; most breeders will tell you a recommended number of days in flowering, "harvest window" some call it. Not sure if that really answers your question or not
