I have the viparspectra 1200w 1200 par led lights that you recommend on your site. I just started my grow about a week ago and the seed started to sprout a few days ago. What should the light distance be at this stage. Do i follow the manufacturers instructions to the letter? Your book says that if i am using fox farm soil then i dont need to feed nutrients for the first 20-30 days. When do i start checking ppm, if im not supposed to fit for 20-30 days. Also, when do i start watering the plant until there is runoff in order to check for ph and ppm

"What should the light distance be at this stage." 24"-30" away should be good for seedlings with that light. As they get older and bigger you can gradually bring the light closer. "When do i start checking ppm, if I'm not supposed to fit for 20-30 days." I check it after every watering and feeding and keep it in a log. That way I can see the PPM reducing every watering and know exactly when to feed when the PPM is low. Since you're in FoxFarm soil, your first runoff will probably be over 2000 PPM. No need to worry there. They are organic nutrients and need to be broken down by microbes first. As time goes on, that runoff PPM number will gradually go down. "Also, when do i start watering the plant until there is runoff in order to check for ph and ppm." You can start immediately. Although, it's safe to assume that the first 20-30 days the plant will have enough nutrients with FF soil so you could skip checking during that time if you want. But I recommend if you're new to check it in order to get experience with it.
i try to use pots that have holes in the bottom so i can feed that way until a good healthy root system is there before transplanting and heavy feeding for runoff - this way i do not over water or even pinch the roots as they are trying to develop - this also will depend on the size of the plant as well - i have gone up to 40 -45 days before getting a good Ph and PPm reading of Runoff
