I use canna nutrients and coco coir is my grow medium . I’m new to growing and am struggling early veg to get the right amount of nutrients . Half the recommended dose burnt my plants and although they are recovering I hate to see them stressed . In an effort to more effectively measure the amount of nutrients to give the girls (gsc extrem) , I began using the ppm of my nutrient mix as a guide . i also read that the recommended amount of nutrients should not be given every feeding but broken up over 2-3 feedings during the week . I’m unclear about watering in between nutrien feeds … just give them a small taste of ph water or give them enough so there is runoff ? I’m using stout once a week and am wondering if that sounds reasonable ? I add it first to the water prior to adding the nutrients individually, ph the water , wait 20 minutes and then recheck ph prior to feeding to insure its at 6.1/6.2. Now I know every genotype is unique and the recipe for success different . However I’m wondering if the direction I’m going sounds good ? Any suggestions ? Is canna good ? Is there something as effective that’s easier to mix (with canna there is up to 6 different nutrients depending on stage of development)? how do you use ppm to determine amount of nutrients? Generally speaking how much cal mag to give weekly when growing in coco coir ? I know I’m asking a lot of questions and will greatly appreciative any feedback you can provide . Happy growing !

I think I figured it out and have decided to give water and cal mag one day , skip a day or two , and then give nutrients (canna line) and then repeat the process . I arrived at this method because I wasn’t able to determine if my plants were experiencing a cal mag issue or a nutrient issue . The day in between allows me to assess how the plants react . I give recharge once weekly and stout once weekly with nutrients mixture . I’m only giving about a quarter of the recommended nutrients and slowly increasing amount each week . Does this sound reasonable .
I haven’t been on the forum in awhile and this post is from almost a month ago; do you still have questions or did you already figure it out?
