Hello fellow growers, first post and happy to be here!
I ran into a high PH issue a couple weeks ago and I didn't have any PH Down so i used vinegar instead. I added 1/4 tsp to 4 liters of water and it dropped the PH from 8 to 6.9 ... close enough.
I've been using vinegar for the past 2 weeks now and my PH issues are gone and the girls seem to like it. Has anyone else tried this and are there any down sides to using vinegar instead of PH Down?
(Using a double strength cleaning vinegar, it's all I had in the house. So probably 1/2 tsp for regular vinegar?)
From everything I've read, vinegar's main component (besides water) is acetic acid. That is less stable compared to phosphoric acid (most pH down's seem to consist of this).
