I am in Thailand so the temperatures are pretty high. Rather than use the normal air conditioning to cool the whole room to cool the tent in that room, I bought a portable air conditioner to just cool the area inside my 5x5 tent. Can i put the portable air conditioner directly in the grow tent?

As long as it's ducted out of the tent then yes.
