My very first grow came to harvest couple months ago, and I noticed root growth was pretty much a disappointment. I grew in ffof soil and used fox farm trio with cal/mag. Next, I plan to use ffof soil with blue planet nutrients, silica and cal/mag. Going forward, I was hoping to get some insight.
What can be done to promote strong healthy root growth?
What pot size do you use? Generally speaking, the bigger the pot size the bigger root structure you can get.
I have found thart bigger fabric pots ( 5 gallon currently / I'm going with at least 15 gallon next run ) and the right watering schedule produce stronger roots.
Bigger roots = bigger fruits lol.
But seriosly, in my experience, if you water correctly, the roots are forced to grow outwards in search of water. I don't have a watering schedule, when the leaves just start to droop, I water, not before. Looking back on my last grow diary, my beautiful girls ( hash plant strain ) went for 12 days between a watering ( in veg )
before a slight drooping occured, With no signs of being stunted or deficiencies.
