So i decided to run a small experiment where i grew 3 plants in coco. one with distilled water the second with bottle water (soft) and the third with well water (hard) .
i noticed that the runoff PH of the distilled water one was rock stable through out the grow and that the harder a water gets the harder the runoff ph drifts .
propably is a known fact but i noticed it and thought to share it
i was really impressed with how stable was the ph through out the grow . i also instead of flushing decided to water with just distilled water till the runoff shows me 12-20 , without phing the solution. just pure distilled water and the ph was rock solid till the very end
Thanks for the info. I've been trying tap water filtered through a standard drinking type filter as it brings the ph down to around 6 and then mix it with RO for desired ppm.
I'm not sure if the filter makes ph unstable or it is a false reading somehow as runoff slowly wanders up. If i mix straight tap at ph7.5 with RO and use ph down, it remains more stable throughout.
thanks for sharing , I for one never knew that
