If you a growing in bag soil that comes pre amended you shouldn't need to add nutrients for the first 30 days or so. If you transplant to a larger container in those 30 days that will add more soil and prolong the need to add nutrients. To get an idea of the amount of nutrients in the soil you can check the PPM of the soil run off when you water. Common light cycle for vegative growth is 18 on 6 off. Some people like to run the lights on 24hrs.
