So if I have 3 or 5 gallon containers and they sit flat in a container holder (green color) is it better to raise the plants above any sitting water or is it best to feed in a flat container and the after 5 minutes raise the container up off the water and p[or out any mix left?

I imagine you'll get mixed answers on this one. Some people let the runoff water soak up while others will remove it right away. If your medium is hydrophobic then you'll probably want to let it wick up since the water just ran through.
How do most of you water your plants and what sort of vessels do you have them in?
I generally do not feed enough to get run off, but I do have one girl I get run off with and in that case, I let her sit and she sucks it up in an hour or so. I only over feed her because her pot is too small, other than that I just try to totally saturate the soil but not enough for run off.
But I'm growing on budget and nothing gets wasted .... well except for me maybe 😁
let me try again. If I water my plants and have them flat in a saucer, is it best to wait five minutes for them to soak up all the nutrients they were just fed or should I have them raised up off the flay surface to check the overflow etc. Hope someone answers .
