So taproot to cup, moisten, cover with bag, place in grow envirnonment. I'm confused as to whether to turn on lights with the bag over cups or not. Start light right away with meduim and taproot?
Yes. As soon as they go in the cup and you have your “humidity dome/bag” set up, place them under a low powered light (not under your main light unless it’s super far.)
when your seedling surfaces it will immediately have the light it needs and lessens the chance of stretching early on 🤙🏼🪴
okay, thats good to know, i only have the LED light to grow with but it recommends a 48" height for the seedlings for a week, once they've broken the surface. Its a Bestva 1000w dual chip with veg/bloom switch, I'm only going to run the veg switch until first leaves as it recommends, then lower to 36" to 48"(not exact now is it?) but they do recommend both switches after two or more true sets of leaves. This is exciting and my first grow hopefully this goes well. I'm struggling with RH though, even after adding a humidifier, it's a 4x4x6'6 tent with a 4" 190cfm fan and filter(running at lowest setting) heater, and an oscillating fan and I can't seem to get the RH higher than 53%, no problem with heat of course and I'll be using soil (FoxFarm OceanForest), so hopefully that will help. RH level is really concerning, and this tent is in a basement that maintains a 67.5F temp but humidity is missing in action somehow.😨
