Hello everyone,
I usually dry my plants in the same tent I grow them in, that way any smell is scrubbed away by the carbon filter. A few years ago I ran into a situation where one plant was ready for harvest but I still had two others that needed more time so I came up with the dry box.
I'm wondering what you think of this and would love to hear any suggestions on how to improve on it. I would also be interested to hear how other people dry their buds indoors.
What we have here is a standard box with ducting added for air flow. The ducting on the bottom left is the air intake and can be placed over a humidifier during the dry months. The ducting on the top right sucks the air out of the box and is actually the air intake for the flower tent which has an inline fan and carbon filter. So the humid air is sucked in the through the bottom left, flows through the box then out through the top right and into the flower tent then out through the carbon filter. I turn the inline fan up a notch for extra air flow and include a wireless monitor to keep an eye on Temp/RH.
This seems to work real good, but I only use the same box for a few runs just in case. For one big grow I used a garment box (for moving hanging clothes) and made two levels for drying.
So thoughts? Suggestions? What are you guys doing?

Yes. It's a great way to dry with very little odor.
Hey fellow Cultivators, can I use the carbon filter while drying in my tent?
I try to keep the RH stable in the room the tent and box are in so it's about the same as drying in my tent. Same for the dry, about the same as the tent. I use a wireless thermometer/hydrometer to keep track of things in the box.
I have a Kush plant in the box now that has been in there since the night of June 2nd (5 days ago) and still has least one or two more day to go.
That's pretty cool. Is the RH stable? How long does it take for the plants to dry in that box?
Wow that’s a really creative way of drying, I think this can work for a lot of us trying to keep the cost down on buying extra equipment.
I bought a smaller tent for drying. Then i can start my seedlings in it uptill my other plants in big tent are ready for harvest. Have a rotation going to try to have harvest every month. Working good so far.
Wow, Thats thinking outside of the well we know the rest of that...Good Idea Cap Stone!
