Yes, you can absolutely top dress FFOF soil with dry nutrients. Just make sure whenever you are going the top dressing route that the top of the medium is moist at all times for proper breakdown. One downside to top dressing and keeping the medium moist at all times is there is greater chance of overwatering. Also, you may want to have yellow stickies by the medium since some pests thrive in wet conditions.
I'm not dropping others growers names on here but ive seen some use FFOF with dry amendment and tea's. They did pretty good. I wouldn't do to much right away being most of fox farm soils have a good amount of starting nutrients. I don't do much with dry/slow release nutrients on cannibis, but I do a lot with vegetables and fruit.
