If you are wanting to stimulate root growth, go from solo cup up to a 2 or 3 gallon, let it grow into that one, then up pot to a larger. Root development will do better and you feed/water less in long run.
Thank you, I'll give that a try on my next run. I already have the 10 gallons (fabric) cooking and don't have any smaller plastic pots on hand. Gonna start another run in about two weeks once I cut down my first run and open up that tent, this is just too damn fun! 😄
I don’t purposefully do this but have done it several times unintentionally. I didn‘t pay attention to the root zone after harvest so I can’t confirm nor deny that it helps but I will say it did not harm anything or seem to slow any growth.
With that being said, it’s worth a try. Possibly even scrape the sides of the stalk like with the end of a clone
I've done it before. I like to do it with stretchy cultivars. No harm in doing it IME

I don't see why not, I don't transplant but usually fill in the pot more once the plant has grown up a bit.
