Have I have a 4 Inch Nursery Pot to start my grow in. so my question is should I transplant them to a 1 gallon pot, then a 3 gallon pot or can I transplant them directly into the 3 gallon pot or which is better?
If you have space constraints or are worried about over-watering then going from solo to 1 gal to final container may be best. If space isn't an issue and you are confident you won't over-water a small plant in a large container, then go right into final container. Totally grower preference.
@J N well developed roots. Got to be careful too to make sure they don't get root bound or that causes issues. I like to keep them in there for a little bit because I feel like they are easier to care for from watering and space constraints.
Get the roots well developed then transfer. I always pull out and see if roots are developing but do it fast and cautiously but don't do this often. When roots are well developed go ahead man. But this my preference
When using the small 4'' pots, I usually wait until I see roots starting to poke out the bottom drainage holes. Then transplant 1-5 days after that when I have time.
In my opinion it really depends what and where you are growing. I go from solo cup to 3gal then halfway through veg I go to 5 gal. I’ve noticed that some girls really love 3 gal in smaller indoor grows while most really love 5 gal or 7. It’s all about preference and your grow environment.
@Jason Haywood Thank you for your reply. I will be growing dos si dos, it will be indoors in tent size of 3x2x5 So Im not sure if a 5 gallon would be too big.
