This is my second time growing. Full disclosure the plants are landrace sativa. The first time trichomes changed colour and it was easy to identify when to harvest. This time its getting difficult to determine when to harvest as the trichs aren't changing colour. Any tips would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
Don't quote me, but I believe some sativa strains are less prone to degradation due to their proximity to the equator and their ability to survive through multiple seasons. It would be better to confirm you don't have any clear ones. They will amber out after harvest since what you are actually seeing is the degradation of thc into cbn and other canabanoids degrading into other compounds.
I just got done saying this in another post. I have found going by the pistoles turning and shrinking back toward the buds is a much better way to tell when it's time to take 'em down. When they turn orange/brown and shrink back toward the bud (like 60% of them or more) then it's time to start to chop.
