Hello everyone. Am new to growing plants but over the last few months I have acquired a big interest and now I consider it one of my new hobbies. Even though it might not be recommended for absolute beginners, I love the idea of growing from a seed rather than a small sapling.
I decided to make Cannabis one of my very first indoor home grown plants.
Now let me get into the issue regarding which I hope to get some advise.
So, first things first - my way of germination:
I kept these seeds in a glass of water for 24 hours.
And then I put them between damp paper towels in a small plastic box with the lid closed.
This provided seeds with adequate humidity and darkness.
I kept checking the box every day for 2-3 days but when nothing happened, I stopped checking and completely forgot about it, until about 7 days later when I opened the box to my surprise of one of the seeds completely germinated with the taproot grown 5 cms long and the cotyledons fully out of the seed.
I took out the sapling and placed it in a cup of soil immediately - 4th January, Afternoon - [IMAGE 1]
Yesterday, I took some photos again - 10th January, Afternoon [IMAGE 2 gives top view , IMAGE 3 gives side view]. As you can see the stem is bent. This is obviously because I didn't end up putting the seed in the soil sooner.
I wanted to know if anything can be done to provide support to the growing stems & leaves as my sapling has taken an unnatural structure. What should I do about it?
Thanks,
El.

Sapling is a term used for small trees. Fast growing annual/semi-anual plant offspring are seedlings. Your soil is not conducive to growing cannabis. Cannabis, particularly seedlings and small plants, won't grow very well in heavy clay/sandy soil. You need a light and airy mix with a generous amount of organic matter. You can attempt to prop it up with a toothpick, but it would be better to start over with new seeds in the correct soil, or you can try to gently transplant that seedling, though it will have little chance to succeed.
