So I have bought 2 water chillers off ebay now where the sellers can't figure out whats wrong with them. First one was a 1/10 hp and that's the one I use currently. It wouldn't turn on. I took the casing screws out and the connector was out. I paid 120 for it with shipping. Been using it for months and it works great. A week ago I saw a 1/4 hp for 85 and decided to grab it to see if it was a similar situation. It was. Took it apart and checked all the connections. Works just fine. It's 650+ brand new. There are more for sale too. If you are in the market for one and have any kind of diagnostic skills it's worth the risk in my book. Worst case scenario it was a punctured coil and a tech can solder it shut and vaccum and refill the system for much less than a new unit. Highly suggest this route. I now have a backup 1/4 hp that I will probably sell locally so it's not sitting around. Might buy another 🤔 It uses r134 refrigerant too, which is one of the least expensive refrigerants.
